The Willeymoor Lock Tavern is located two miles North of Whitchurch on the main A49 Tarporley Road at Bradeley Green opposite the Greenbank Business Park

When arriving by car - this is the only vehicular access  - the car park is located 100m down our drive off the main A49 Tarporley to Whitchurch road at the junction with Bradeley Green Lane (do not attempt to gain access from A41 as the pub is cut off from the actual village of Willeymoor - see map below)

All visitors have to cross a footbridge (or lock if they wish to do so) over the Llangollen canal to gain access to the pub - this can be tricky for those with mobility issues - please give us a call if you are at all concerned

Our postal address is Whitchurch, Shropshire, SY13 4HF, however, the pub is actually part of the parish of Tushingham, West Cheshire, with its car park sitting in the parish of Wirswall, East Cheshire......!
To add to confusion, some pub guides list the pub in Cheshire (Good Beer Guide), & others, in Shropshire (Good Pub Guide, AA).

Willeymoor Lock Tavern is located besides the Llangollen canal on the Shropshire Cheshire border with unrestricted moorings - canal boating guides list the pub under the Llangollen or Shropshire Union canal - the nearest narrowboat hire is Alvechurch at Wrenbury, Cheshire & Viking Afloat at Whitchurch Shropshire.

Many customers arrive on foot whilst navigating the Sandstone trail, South Cheshire way or Bishop Bennett Way - or just strolling along the canal (the Bishop Bennett Way is a designated bridle way)

We are non-residential - nearby there are luxury hotels (Hill Valley Golf & Spa, Carden Park, Hawkstone Park, Peckforton Castle, Portal Hotel Golf & Spa ), Farmhouse B+B (Hampton House Malpas, Mile bank Farm Whitchurch), and quality Caravan & Campsites (Canal side, Grindley Brook, Mile Bank Farm, Whitchurch)
